Yeah, the early winter bird special for Electric Zoo 2011 looks amazing! 3 days for $129!? I paid $125 last year for 2 days, and that was with an advanced purchase discount LOL. The hotels are definitely the most expensive and stressful part of it all though. I recommend doing what I did for EZF2010: don\\\'t book right away, but keep watching Electric Zoo\\\'s website for when they add a FAQ section. In there, there SHOULD be a section that talks about recommended hotels.
Of course, these hotels are expensive as shit, lol, but they are partnered up with Made Event and have promo codes to them. So, last year, my friends and I were able to land a hotel room at ACE HOTEL (I think it\\\'s located at I (eye, not el) Street & 25th Street, or somewhere very close to that; it\\\'s about 17 subway stops away from the free bus to Randall\\\'s Island, and it\\\'s only about 5 or so blocks away from Penn Station) for just $199 a night for a small double bed room, with the use of Electric Zoo\\\'s promo code. I am definitely going to try staying there again this year, unless Made Event has an even better hookup somewhere else.
Ultra Music Festival? Even though I\\\'ve been opening up to Progressive House and Electro a bit more over the past year or two, I\\\'m not TOO crazy about the line-ups for Ultra. I\\\'m still eagerly waiting for an all-Trance event (like Trancemission or Trance Energy (prior to it\\\'s switch to just Energy)) to arrive in the U.S. But yeah, I\\\'ve heard about it, but I\\\'ve never really considered going. I always found it to be too far, which means too expensive, and usually no one is able/wants to go with me to help split costs.
However, this year, apparently A State of Trance 500 is supposed to be INCLUDED with UMF. This pisses me off though, since it means that instead of it being it\\\'s own event, it\\\'s just going to be a stage at an already packed festival, which means there will be a limitation on DJs, since it will have to follow UMF\\\'s line-up, and it also makes the tickets a lot more expensive... From what I\\\'ve seen, the early bird special is already at $179, which is ridiculous!! However, if I can find a nice hotel deal down in Miami, I\\\'d love to make it happen. It would just be a little discouraging to spend all of that money just before Tax Time and then still a lot more cash to go to Electric Zoo a few months later, lol...
Also, if you haven\\\'t seen it yet, I made an after-film from my experience at Electric Zoo 2010 that\\\'s on my YouTube channel (thanks for subscribing, btw! ) Did you go last year, or in 2009?
