There are now many music creation softwares available for producers, but what to chose? There are some really cool softwares like Ableton, Reason, Cubase, etc... As there are so many, I can't decide which software will suit the best for my future tracks... As I can't experience every music software around by myself, can someone write a little about their own experiences with different softwares, this can really help to know which software to buy or to use...

I use Cubase SX3. It's a very complex program, and you can do a lot of things with it. Many producers use Cubase, like Tiesto, Anhken. But you need to have a powerful pc , cause you need a lot of memory and a strong processor, over 2,6 Ghz is recomended, in single core mode and in dual- core : over 1,7 Ghz. If you use many vsts is recomended to have a least 2gb of RAM. If you want to buy Cubase, you will have to pay at least 1000 $ but worth. Another program wich I used in the past, is Fruity Loops. You can do quality music with Fl, have many options, especially for vocals, and a build-in synth for trance. To buy is more reasonable than Cubase. I also have Ableton, but I use it for mixing, and to do my sets. But you can also do with it beautiful tunes. And is a bargain to buy.

Yes, Logic pro is coooool, but you need an Apple for this, and Apple pc's are quite expensive, but reliable. Armin van Buuren use Logic, to create his awsome tunes. Anyway I think you need some midi keyboard for Logic, or only on Proo Tools you need that. If I have to make a top 5 music software I think on first place is Logic, second Cubase, third place - Fruity Loops, fourth place - Ableton Live 7 and the last place is taken by Reason. That's my personal opinion.

Too bad you need a Mac for Logic Studio.. I'd go buy it right now if I could've used it.

I think Ableton is a really powerful tool. And it gives you much more control than other software. All automations are done easily and intuitively. And also it has tons of built-in fx
